Evangelist Bro. Eddie Villanueva of the Jesus is Lord Movement is on course to win a party-list seat in the House of Representatives as first nominee of the Citizens Battle Against Corruption, unofficial results showed Tuesday.
CIBAC was ranked fourth with 902,551 votes based on 94.67 percent of results transmitted to the Commission on elections’ transparency server.
Villanueva ran for president twice, in 2004 and in 2010. He is the father of Sen. Joel Villanueva, a former CIBAC representative.
ACT-CIS (2,539,608 votes), Bayan Muna (1,082,928 votes) and Ako Bicol (1,018,091 votes) were ahead of CIBAC in the unofficial count.
Among the bills passed by CIBAC are the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act; Early Voting for Senior Citizens and Persons with Disability; Sin Tax Reform; and the National Land Use Act.
