China offers PH, 58 other countries 30-day visa-free travel to Hainan, “China’s Hawaii”

  • Starting May 1, Filipino tourists will be able to
    enter and stay in the Chinese province of Hainan without a
    visa for 30 days
  • As a policy, tourists from 59 countries including the
    Philippines may visit as long as their tours are booked
    through China National Tourism Administration-approved travel
    agencies

On Wednesday, China offered the Philippines and 58 other
countries visa-free access to its famous Hainan island, also
known as “China’s Hawaii” in an effort to support a policy to
open up the tourist island to the public.

The offer will be implemented starting May 1, as announced
by the Ministry of Public Security of China and the State
Immigration Administration.

As long as tours are booked through China National Tourism
Administration-approved travel agencies around
Hainan, individuals and groups from 59 countries may visit
the province for 30 visa-free days.

The countries given visa-free access to Hainan are:
