On Monday, March 12, Senator Leila De Lima went to the
Philippine Heart Center to undergo CT scan because of suspected
tumor in her liver.

On GMA News’ Facebook
, it can be seen that her condition is starting to
emaciate her.

According to the Senator, there is nothing to worry about her
health because this is only part of her routine medical

“There is nothing to worry about. This is just part of a
routine medical check-up to determine if I should go through an
operation to avoid any complications,” t
he Senator said.

The Senator assures that she will immediately inform the public
of the result of the CT scan.

“Bilang bahagi ng pananagutan ko bilang lingkod bayan, agad
ko pong ipagbibigay alam sa publiko ang resulta ng nasabing
medical examination ukol sa estado ng aking kalusugan,”

the Senator said.

[As part of my responsibility as a public servant, I will
immediately inform the public of the medical examination
result about my health status.]

“Makakaasa po kayo, patuloy kong haharapin ang mga
imbentong kaso laban sa akin. Patuloy ko ring gagawin ang aking
obligasyon para sa kapakanan at karapatan ng ating mga
she added.

[You can count on it, I will continue to face the invented
cases against me. I will continue to perform my obligations for
the welfare and rights of our people.]

Last February 22, De Lima’s lawyers filed “a very urgent motion
for medical furlough” but the motion was granted on March 6, by
Amelia Fabros-Corpuz, Judge of Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court
after finding out that the motion was meritorious.

The Senator said that the doctors suggested further tests after
“impression of a liver mass” was seen during her annual medical
examination on February 15 at the PNP General Hospital, so they
asked the court to allow her to be checked in other hospitals.

The Prosecution initially did not allow her but the PNP General
Hospital said that they do not have CT scan machine so the
prosecution later agreed to the motion.
