Kiefer Ravena returns to the court, practices with Gilas

MANILA, Philippines — After nearly 500 days, Kiefer Ravena is back on the basketball court.

The NLEX guard made his official return to basketball on Monday afternoon, when he joined the Philippine national team’s practice at the Meralco Gym.

Ravena had been suspended from all basketball activities after testing positive for banned substances, cutting short his rookie year in the PBA and preventing him from suiting up for Gilas Pilipinas in the FIBA World Cup Asian qualifiers.

While he won’t be allowed to play an official game until August 24, Ravena has been cleared to join Gilas and NLEX practices.

He was among the early arrivals at the Meralco Gym on Monday, ending a 487-day wait for the “Phenom.”

Also in attendance for Gilas were:

* Stanley Pringle
* Paul Lee
* Robert Bolick
* CJ Perez
* June Mar Fajardo
* Troy Rosario
* Roger Pogoy
* Mark Barroca
* Poy Erram
* Japeth Aguilar
* Marcio Lassiter
