South Korea’s Kim Taehyung, also known as
V and member of the sensational K-pop boyband
BTS, emerged as the winner of our month-long
online poll in search of 100 Asian Heartthrobs.
Taehyung bested more than 100 nominated celebrities from the
Asian continent which include TV series stars, K-pop artists,
sports personalities, models, and movie actors. He got a total
of 3,041,030 votes in the fan-powered online polls on Facebook,
Twitter, Instagram and the website Starmometer.com.
The K-pop star, however, had a tough battle against Thailand’s
Suradet Piniwat who emerged as runner-up with
a total of 2,775,929 votes. The “2 Moons the Series” star, also
known as Bas, topped our Facebook poll with 1,654,963 votes.
His photo was shared more than 800 thousand times in less than
a month. But Taehyung, supported by the BTS Armys from around
the world, topped our online ballot, Twitter, and Instagram
polls and had a 265,101 lead over the Thai actor after the
voting deadline ended at 12 noon of June 25, 2018.
Early leader Timmy Xu (star of the hit series
“Addicted”) of China settled for third place with 400,566
votes. Completing the Top 5 finalists are Daniel Padilla (star
of “Crazy Beautiful You” and “La Luna Sangre”) of the
Philippines and Mark Tuan (member of the K-pop group GOT7) of
Taiwan in fourth and fifth, respectively.
