PBA: Rain or Shine seeks twice-to-beat bid vs Meralco

Rain or Shine keeps seeks a top 2 finish in the eliminations when it battles Meralco on Friday at the Cuneta Astrodome.

The Elasto Painters are currently in second place in the ladder with a 7-3 win-loss record, but they lost their last 2 games. Lurking close are San Miguel Beer (6-3), TNT KaTropa (5-3) and Barangay Ginebra (4-3).

Whoever gets the second spot at the end of the eliminations will enjoy a twice-to-beat advantage in the playoffs.
This is why their 7 p.m. match against the Bolts is crucial.

Meralco, meanwhile, will be fighting it out for a spot in the quarterfinal round. The Bolts are just hanging at eighth place with just 3 wins and 5 losses.

In the 4:30 p.m. curtain-raiser, TNT will take on a struggling Alaska side.

The Aces, which has several key players in the injury list, have dropped back-to-back games.

But coach Alex Compton is confident that if they play “unselfish basketball,” they will be able to hurdle the Texters.
The Texters are coming off a 127-89 demolition of the Blackwater Elite last Saturday.
