Southwest monsoon to bring rains over northern, central Luzon

MANILA – Rainshowers due to the southwest monsoon will be experienced in northern and central Luzon, the state weather agency said Saturday.

Severe tropical storm Nimfa has left the Philippine area of responsibility, the PAGASA said.

On Saturday, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms will prevail over the Ilocos region, and the provinces of Zambales and Bataan.

The rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila, will experience rainfall, especially at night.

Meanwhile, the Visayas, Palawan, and Occidental Mindoro will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds from the west to southwest will prevail over the Palawan, and Occidental Mindoro, while from the southwest over the Visayas with moderate to rough seas.

In Mindanao, moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds due to thunderstorms are also expected over Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur, Surigao del Sur.
