MANILA – Typhoon Tomas is expected to reenter the Philippine
area of responsibility Sunday afternoon or evening but is not
seen affecting weather in the country, state weather bureau
The Northeast monsoon or amihan, meanwhile will bring cloudy
weather with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms to
Tomas was last spotted more than 1,500 kilometers east of
Cagayan with maximum sustained winds of 145 km/h near the
center and gustiness of up to 180 km/h.
Moderate to very strong winds blowing from the Northeast will
prevail over Northern Luzon and in Aurora Province. The coastal
waters will be moderate to very rough.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly
cloudy skies with occasional rainshowers and thunderstorms.
